The date of her birth is March 29, 1985, in Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson, the child of Mexican grandparents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is Mexican and American. As a young girl, she's always had a keen determination to be involved in sporting activities. Gerina first started golfing at the age of 15. Gerina completed her secondary schooling through Goddard High School. While she was in high school, she won at the New Mexico state golf tournament. Also, she was an athlete in volleyball who played at the national level. In the year 2003 she began her studies at the University of Texas. In her senior year, she won every tournament she participated. During her undergrad career, she won awards such as the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year and UTEP Female athlete of the year.
